At Red Cherry's 2,000m² factory in Yiwu, China, every charm pendant, keychain, and enamel pin passes through 7 production stages before it reaches your shelves. Here's the full process with 18 real photos from our factory floor.

Step 1: Design & Mold Development

Every charm starts in our design office. Our team of 10+ designers creates over 300 new charm designs per month using CAD software. For custom orders, buyers send a sketch, photo, or reference image — we turn it into a production-ready 3D model within 24 hours. Molds are CNC-machined from tool steel, each mold capable of producing 500,000+ pieces before replacement.

Step 2: Die-Casting & Injection Molding

Raw zinc alloy ingots are melted at 420°C and injected into precision steel molds under high pressure. Each die-casting machine cycles every 15-20 seconds, producing thousands of raw charm bodies per shift. Our casting workshop runs 8+ machines simultaneously, giving us a daily capacity of 20,000+ raw pieces. For PVC or resin charms, we use injection molding machines with different mold configurations.

Step 3: Surface Treatment — Polishing, Plating & Enamel

After casting, raw charm pieces go through three critical surface treatments. First, polishing — tumble polishing and hand buffing remove rough edges and create a smooth surface. Then electroplating — pieces are plated in gold, silver, rose gold, or rhodium to achieve the desired finish and prevent tarnishing. Finally, enamel application — our MEST V4 precision dispensing machines apply colored enamel (oil-drop) into each cavity with pinpoint accuracy. This automated process ensures consistent color fill across every piece in a 10,000-piece batch.

Step 4: Assembly

Plated and enameled charm bodies are assembled with chains, clasps, jump rings, magnets, and other components. BFF charm sets require precise magnet alignment — our workers test every magnetic connection by hand. Woven bracelets with charm pendants go through our sewing workshop, where operators on JACK industrial machines attach fabric cord to alloy charm components. Step 5: Quality Inspection

Every piece goes through 100% visual inspection after plating and again after final assembly. Our QC team checks for: plating uniformity, enamel fill completeness, magnet strength, clasp function, chain length accuracy, and overall appearance. Our factory wall says it best: "Quality is achieved through production, not inspection" — meaning we build quality into every step rather than relying on final checks alone. As a BSCI and ISO 9001 certified factory, we maintain documented QC procedures with full traceability.

Step 6: Packaging

Finished charms are packed according to buyer requirements — individual OPP bags, cardboard backing cards, gift boxes, or bulk poly bags. For retail-ready orders (like our Claire's and Target shipments), each piece is carded with UPC barcode and hang-tagged. Custom packaging with your brand logo, card design, and box printing is available for custom orders at no extra tooling cost.

Step 7: Warehousing & Shipping

Packaged orders move to our warehouse for final count verification and carton packing. Standard export cartons are labeled with PO number, SKU, quantity, and gross weight. We ship FOB Yiwu or Ningbo — both ports are within 3 hours of our factory. Standard orders ship within 15-25 days after deposit. For repeat orders with stock items, lead time can be as short as 7 days.
